The Shark That Never Left Pop Culture
It’s been nearly five decades since Jaws terrorized theaters—and beaches—but its impact hasn't faded. In fact, it feels sharper than ever. From memes to marine biology documentaries, the cultural teeth of Spielberg’s first major hit still bite hard. But it wasn’t just Spielberg’s vision or John Williams’ iconic score that made Jaws immortal. It was the script—the words that gave the fear flesh.
Carl Gottlieb, the co-writer behind the screenplay, was the guy who took a man-eating fish story and turned it into a cultural myth. It could’ve been another B-movie monster flick. But thanks to Carl’s wit, character-building, and instincts for pacing, Jaws became something else entirely: cinematic gravity. The movie that changed how Hollywood makes movies.
We recently had the surreal honor of sitting down with Carl—yes, that Carl—for drinks. No shark tank, just two creative minds chatting over Bloody Marys and big ideas. It wasn’t just nostalgia. It was ignition.
Why We’re Rebooting the Monster
This is more than a tribute. We’re taking the energy of Jaws and putting it into a full reimagining of what cult cinema can become again. That means:
- New websites for AIP Studios and WR Universal
- A full creative reboot: wild UX, animated logos, Hollywood-level FX
- Comic book series based on 30 legendary films (starting with the ones Carl helped make iconic)
- Modern promo campaigns for old stars, introducing them to new fandoms
- Reworking old films with fresh ideas, deep rewrites, and creator-led storytelling
- A whole merch universe with collectibles, limited drops, and community-built designs
And yes, we’re building a Jaws-style franchise machine. Think: Star Wars but bloodier and weirder, with fewer CGI overkills and more real-world myth-making.

How Stories Survive—And Why They Should
What makes a story last? Ask any screenwriter: it’s not the monster. It’s the people.
That’s what Carl Gottlieb knew when he shaped Chief Brody, Hooper, and Quint into icons. And that’s the philosophy we’re bringing to every project we launch now. We believe great stories—real stories—come from unlikely alliances, risky ideas, and creators who give a damn.
We’re not remaking Jaws.
We’re rebooting the attitude that made Jaws possible.
This isn’t a corporate "IP expansion strategy." This is love, madness, and legacy work.
